The Cove In The Community
We are often approached from organizations needing donations or sponsorship and we always reply with enthusiasm. Our main goal at The Cove is to make connections within our community and give where it's needed.
Over the years we have found many worthy causes such as 'adopt a family' during the Holiday season and running a Toy drive for less fortunate children in York Region. We couldn't have been successful at these projects without the help of our staff and various patrons. Thank you for all your help and donations. Lets try to make this Holiday season as giving as the last four.
Located directly behind us is Huron Heights S. S. In the last year we have created a solid customer base from these students We have come to know some of the great young men and ladies that attend H. H. S. S. We felt the need to give back to them as they have us. One way has been hiring a number of them through Co- op. This is a program that allows a student to work during school hours in an area they want to enter once they graduate, in exchange for credits. It gives them experience and knowledge and helps them to make critical career decisions based on these placements before entering the work force. In Spring we agreed to buy advertising space on the score boards at HHSS- that money went toward buying a new and much needed score board. The committee was very appreciative and held an assembly to Thank us and the other local sponsors. Thanks HURON HEIGHTS!
The YMCA /SENECA Job Connect program has been at the forefront of our business for the last four years. This program allows youth who are challenged physically, mentally, emotionally or someone who just can't seem to break into the working world to get and keep a job. We have worked with many counsellors and youth with great success. It enables someone to learn life skills and work ethic. It's been invaluable to us and we're honored to be receiving an award for our participation in October. |

The hearing society of Ontario is another organization that has given us the opportunity of catering many of their functions and donating gift certificates to their fund-raising raffles. As one of our business neighbours we couldn't ask for a more supportive and caring bunch. We are always happy to donate to such a great cause and look forward to assisting them in any way possible in the future. |

Sept 24th was the walk for heart and stroke and a few of our staff participated in raising awareness and money for this cause. Jessica Penman was the winner raising!
This year we are anticipating joining in the Santa Claus Parade. We're currently seeking volunteers to help us hand out Lollipops to parade goers, and for the more adventurous - someone to wear a clown outfit!
